Join our free to veterans and veteran adult family members gym. 

 

Veterans must be registered with us so we can verify their service and all gym users must complete an induction before first session.

Our Gym is located where our offices are, The Veterans Community Hub in Newton Aycliffe. 

Opening times are, Monday - Thursday, 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-2pm.

uk challenge

For over three decades, the UK Challenge has been providing companies with an unparalleled  team-building experience. Combining both mental and physical challenge, they offer an opportunity for all individuals to uncover their strengths and add value to their team.

 

In 2022 the UK Challenge will take place on the Isle of Man from the 16th to the 19th of June. Our 5 teams of six will be running, cycling, and kayaking over some of the most beautiful, yet challenging, terrain in the Isle of Man. Over 3 days we will be taking on 7 stages, expertly designed to challenge our team cognitively and physically. Our strategy will decide which routes to take, which obstacles to face, and how best to utilise our team to ensure an efficient completion of each mission.

 

Your place in the team is funded by the charity including ferry, accommodation and food.
All we ask is that the team members fundraise.
We can help you with fundraising.

 

Get Involved

You DO NOT have to commit to the whole project, you can drop in and out as and when, we appreciate you may have other commitments you need to attend. If you are interested in any of our events, please email info@sportingforce.org.

Sporting Force

Indoor and Outdoor Activities

These activities will be held both indoors and outdoors and will be run by Sporting Force Coaches and specialised instructors. Activities in the project include:

Durham Cricket Foundation will also provide drop-in support sessions and tickets for cricket matches. We will also hold a two-day mental health first-aid course, which veterans and their families are invited to attend, as well as staff from both organisations.

 School Holiday clubs for all members of a veterans family. Fun Days with Multi Sports on the pitch at the cricket grounds and Adventures at Hamsterly Forest - den building, mountain bike trails, nature walks, archery , Seaham Paddle Boarding, River Wear Kayaking
